ALGOA, Texas (AP) - Authorities in southeast Texas say a man and his father-in-law have been arrested after a domestic dispute that involved a machete attack and shooting.

The Galveston County Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1u7JYUp ) sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Algoa home several times on Sunday before the feud turned violent.

Capt. Mike Benavides says the men were fighting over use of a water well.

Thirty-five-year-old Jeffrey Cisneros is accused of slashing his father-in-law’s arm with a machete and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Benavides says 44-year-old Neil Braddock fired at least one gunshot into a trailer. He was charged with deadly conduct.

Benavides says Braddock sustained “significant” injuries to his arm.

It wasn’t immediately available if either man has an attorney.
