Capt. Mike Benavides says the men were fighting over use of a water well.

Thirty-five-year-old Jeffrey Cisneros is accused of slashing his father-in-law’s arm with a machete and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Benavides says 44-year-old Neil Braddock fired at least one gunshot into a trailer. He was charged with deadly conduct.

Benavides says Braddock sustained “significant” injuries to his arm.

It wasn’t immediately available if either man has an attorney.
