CLINTON, Ill. (AP) - A DeWitt County attorney has pleaded guilty to felony drug conspiracy charges for trying to buy cocaine near an elementary school.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports that (https://bit.ly/1vuZkBI ) 51-year-old Dodie Junkert of Clinton entered the guilty plea on Tuesday as a bench trial was about to begin in the case.

She had faced nine charges; all but one was dropped as part of the deal.

Junkert was accused of going to a home less than 100 feet from a Clinton elementary school to buy cocaine for herself and another woman.

She faces up to seven years in prison at sentencing on Nov. 20.

The Illinois Attorney Registration Disciplinary Commission suspended Junkert’s license earlier this year for mishandling client funds. She now faces new discipline and could lose her license.
