BOSTON (AP) - Republican candidate for state treasurer Mike Heffernan is launching a new radio ad portraying himself as the candidate most qualified for the job.

The 60-second ad said no other candidate has the right financial expertise and leadership skills to tackle Massachusetts’ difficult financial issues and make the most of tax dollars.

The Wellesley resident is the co-founder of Mobiquity, Inc., which he describes as Massachusetts-based tech startup in the mobile information technology professional services sector.

Heffernan also spent nearly two decades at Citigroup’s Markets & Banking division.

Heffernan, who ran unopposed in the GOP primary, is facing off against Democrat Deb Goldberg, who served six years on the Brookline Board of Selectmen. Goldberg won a three-way Democratic primary.

Current state Treasurer Steve Grossman isn’t seeking re-election.

The election is Nov. 4
