DANSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say an infant suffered serious injuries when a pickup truck failed to stop at an intersection and slammed into her family’s western New York home.

Police in the Livingston County village of Dansville tell local media that the truck was traveling on a street when it didn’t stop at a stop sign and crashed into the house.

Officials say a woman and her four-month-old boy were injured. Two people in the truck were also injured.

The woman was treated and released, while her baby is listed in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

The people in the truck were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, but police say they believe either a medical condition or a mechanical failure caused the accident.
