CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) - A Cedar Falls man has been arrested after authorities say he broke in to the Cedar Falls Fire Department headquarters over the weekend.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1rIECyv ) that 24-year-old Zachary Brian Carstensen was found asleep on an office floor of the department just before 2 a.m. Sunday. Officials suspect he threw two rocks through the fire station’s glass front door and side window to gain entry.

Carstensen was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, second-degree criminal mischief and trespassing. He was released from the Black Hawk County Jail later Sunday.

A phone number for Carstensen could not be found Tuesday.

Authorities say the break-in caused about $1,700 in damage to the fire department.
