WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) - A man accused of barricading himself in a bedroom with two young girls while armed with a knife is charged in Marathon County.

Ben Chapa, of Unity, faces two felony counts of false imprisonment while armed and several misdemeanor charges.

Marathon County Assistant District Attorney Lesli Pluster said at a court hearing Monday that the girls with Chapa were 7 and 10 years old. The relationship between the girls and Chapa is unclear.

Daily Herald Media (https://wdhne.ws/1rIkNai ) reports sheriff’s deputies forced their way into the home Saturday because they believed the girls were in imminent danger. Chapa is being held on $2,500 cash bond.
