CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. (AP) - A southern New Jersey man has been convicted on murder charges in the fatal shooting his nephew.

The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1rDQvp0) reports that 75-year-old Frederick Marr, of Lower Township, was also convicted of hindering apprehension and weapons offenses in the August 2010 shooting of Ronald Denny.

The jury deliberated less than two hours before reaching its verdict Tuesday. Marr faces a possible life term when he’s sentenced Nov. 14.

Cape May County prosecutors claimed Marr drove his pickup truck to his nephew’s Middle Township home and shot Denny once in the throat with a .45-caliber handgun. He then drove away and soon fled to Florida, but was arrested days later.

Family members say Denny and his uncle were quarreling over a Florida property they owned.
