MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) - A Huger man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison in the shooting death of another man during an armed robbery two years ago.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (https://bit.ly/1DV2TWV ) that 24-year-old Patrick Dwayne Kinloch entered the plea in Berkeley County Court on Monday. Kinloch was to have gone on trial on the charges this week.

He pleaded to charges stemming from the September, 2012 shooting of 31-year-old Robert Moultrie of Conway.

Authorities charged that Kinloch and another man robbed and shot Moultrie near Kinloch’s home. Moultrie’s body was found two days later in the backseat of an abandoned SUV in the Francis Marion National Forest. Kinloch was later arrested in Florida.

The second man charged in the case is awaiting trial.
