BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Geological Survey is hosting National Fossil Day events on Oct. 15 at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck.

The North Dakota Geological Survey invites members of the public to bring in possible fossils to be identified by their paleontological staff. They will also hold an art contest with the theme “fossil neighborhood.” Entries are due on Oct. 8 and the winner will be announced on National Fossil Day.

The Oct. 15 event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
