DEERING, N.H. (AP) - Deering police have charged two people with kidnapping and assault after an incident last week.

Authorities tell WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1vukbGg ) that 32-year-old Joseph Mills and 23-year-old Jessica Vaillancourt were charged late last week following an incident at a home on Thursday.

Mills faces charges of felony kidnapping, second-degree assault, including one for attempted strangulation, simple assault, criminal threatening and robbery.

Vaillancourt is charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of prescription drugs.

Details were not available Tuesday. It could not be learned if either had a lawyer.

The pair is due back in court Thursday.
