MADISON, Minn. (AP) - A western Minnesota woman has pleaded not guilty to giving her son cannabis oil to relieve his chronic pain and muscle spasms.

Angela Brown rejected the prosecution’s offer to settle the case in Lac Qui Parle County Monday. She’s charged with endangering a child.

Brown tells WCCO-TV (https://cbsloc.al/1CDvrm6 ) the oil was a lifesaver for her 15-year-old son, who didn’t want to live with his pain.

Brown’s attorney has asked that charges be dismissed in light of the Minnesota Legislature’s passage of a medical marijuana law. That law doesn’t go into effect until next July.
