PINEHURST, N.C. (AP) - The Pinehurst County Club begins construction in November on a new $4 million swimming complex that includes two pools.

The Fayetteville Observer (https://bit.ly/1rHYwJJ ) reports the project is slated to open next year. It will feature a 5,300-square-foot family pool with a slide and splash zones. There will also be a 3,600-square-foot adult pool with swimming lanes.

The project also includes a cafe and a media center where movies can be screened.

Pinehurst has nine golf courses. Pinehurst No. 2 earlier this year hosted both the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open on consecutive weeks.
