NIOBRARA, Neb. (AP) - The Ponca Tribe is hosting an open house to celebrate its new headquarters in Niobrara.

The event will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The new headquarters is located along Nebraska Highway 12 in Niobrara, and it’s more than double the size of the old building that had been used for 20 years. It will feature a drive-up lane for access, house offices for staff and a storm shelter.

Following the demolition of the old headquarters, a Ponca Express Transit Facility will be built.

The Ponca Tribe has a 15-county service area that includes parts of Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. Office sites are located in Lincoln, Niobrara and Omaha in Nebraska, and Sioux City in Iowa.
