DALLAS (AP) - Dallas police say a security guard has been fatally shot during a convenience store robbery and the attackers then fled in two vehicles.

Police are searching for several suspects in the slaying early Tuesday.

Officer Kevin Wetherington says officers responded to the shooting call at a store in a strip mall. Authorities did not immediately say who summoned help.

Investigators say several robbers confronted the guard and two clerks before the fatal shooting. The guard was transported to a Dallas hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name wasn’t immediately released.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
