FORT BENNING, Ga. (AP) - Air Force officials say training exercises at Fort Benning are expected to feature practice bombings executed by low-flying aircraft.

Fort Benning spokesman Chris Warner said in a release that the exercises run Wednesday through Friday and are also scheduled for Oct. 20-25.

Warner says the Air Force will be using A-10 aircraft to make bombing runs in the northeast area of Fort Benning and residents should prepare for noise, flare signals over the area and rattling from the use of 500-pound training bombs.

The training sessions this week are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Training runs between Oct. 20 and 25 are scheduled for 4 to 10 p.m.

Warner says officials are trying to limit late night noise, but weather and operational conditions can sometimes delay training.
