VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - State Sen. Don Benton of Vancouver plans to lead a weeklong trade mission to Cambodia to promote trade and governmental ties.

Benton told The Columbian (https://bit.ly/1xxEFQU ) he’ll take unpaid time off from his job at Clark County’s director of environmental services. He says he will be acting in his capacity as a state senator but no state funds will be used.

Benton says he’ll spend $2,200 of his own money. Some costs may be paid by the government of Cambodia.
