MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is reminding archers that no antlerless deer may be taken in three wildlife management units in the Northeast Kingdom this fall.

The only time antlerless deer may be taken in units D2, E1 and E2 this year is during the two-day youth hunting weekend, Nov. 8-9.

The boundaries of the three units have changed this year so hunters are encouraged to look at a map, in the hunting and fishing guidebook, where hunting licenses are sold or on the department’s website.

The opening day of Vermont’s two-part fall archery season begins Oct. 4 and runs through Oct. 26. The second season runs from Dec. 6-14.
