OSAGE, Iowa (AP) - An Osage woman is recovering after being injured in a house fire.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1sLP8H6 ) that the fire occurred Sunday in Osage.

Osage Police Officer Mike Niemeyer says he arrived to find the home filled with smoke. He found the unconscious woman in an upstairs bedroom.

Osage Fire Chief Kurt Angell says the woman was held in a local hospital overnight for observation.

Police say a neighbor heard Fox’s dog barking, saw smoke pouring from the house and then called 911 around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Angell says the house suffered little structural damage.
