MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A south Alabama man is again facing execution for killing two elderly relatives in Mobile County.

Al.com (https://bit.ly/1BetQCs ) reports that a judge in Mobile sentenced 39-year-old Aubrey Lynn Shaw to death during a hearing Thursday.

A state appeals court had ordered the judge to reconsider Shaw’s original death sentence in a ruling in July.

Authorities say Shaw was high on crack cocaine when he killed 79-year-old Bob Gilbert and 83-year-old Doris Gilbert in their home in 2007. The two were the man’s great uncle and great aunt.

The two stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife.

Testimony showed Shaw confessed to a neighbor and later told a sheriff’s deputy he wanted the death penalty.
