WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a bicyclist who died after she was struck by a car in Clinton County.

The Lansing State Journal reports (https://on.lsj.com/1u0SZOF ) 35-year-old Jill Byelich died following the crash Tuesday night in Watertown Township, near Lansing.

Byelich was from DeWitt. Her husband, Jordan Byelich, says she was a health-conscious mother of two young boys. He says she got back into bicycling about two months ago, typically wore a safety vest and a helmet, and used front and back lights.

Byelich was a grant adviser for the Michigan State Police and had worked for the state since 2005.

The driver of the car, also from DeWitt, wasn’t injured. Sheriff Wayne Kangas says authorities hope to wrap up their investigation into the crash next week.
