LINWOOD, N.J. (AP) - More than 1,000 people attended a memorial service for a teenage soccer player who died from injuries sustained a weekend car crash in southern New Jersey.

Fourteen-year-old Aisling Cooke of Linwood died Wednesday.

Cooke and four other Mainland Regional High School students were going to compete in a charity tournament when the crash occurred Saturday morning in Hamilton Township. The other girls were treated and released from a hospital.

The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1Ct7S04 ) reports her number will be retired for four years.

Authorities have said a pickup truck apparently crossed the center lane, hit a box truck and then the car carrying the teens.

The crash remains under investigation and no summonses have been issued.
