Lamar (1-0) at No. 9 Texas A&M; (1-0), 6:30 p.m. (SEC Network)

Line: No line.

Series Record: First meeting.

The Aggies must guard against a letdown after their big win on the road at South Carolina last week. It will be their first game in the newly-renovated Kyle Field.

Texas A&M; QB Kenny Hill against Lamar’s secondary. Hill made a splash in his first game since taking over the starting job for 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, throwing for a school-record 511 yards against the Gamecocks. Now he’ll face a team that has led the Southland Conference in pass defense the past two seasons but will likely be overmatched in its first game against an SEC team since 1974.

Lamar: WR Reggie Begelton set a single-season school record and led the Southland with 82 receptions last season. He’s already off to a good start this year and had 12 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in Lamar’s 42-27 win over Grambling.

Texas A&M;: WR Malcome Kennedy. Kennedy emerged as Hill’s favorite target in his first start and the senior had 14 catches for 137 yards. Kennedy was second on the team last season with 60 catches for 658 yards and the Aggies will look for him to step up this season after leading receiver Mike Evans left early for the NFL draft.

The renovations to Kyle Field have increased the capacity from 82,600 to 102,512. … Hill was named the SEC co-offensive player of the week. … This is Lamar’s third game against an SEC team. The Cardinals lost to Mississippi State in the first two meetings. … The Aggies finished with 680 yards of total offense against South Carolina, which was the most ever allowed by the Gamecocks. … Texas A&M; running back Tra Carson had just 30 yards rushing last week, but scored three touchdowns.
