DETROIT (AP) - Detroit police say a 7-week-old baby who went missing has been found safe 24 hours later.

The Detroit News reports (https://bit.ly/1nxFTCI ) Ziairr Ryles went missing around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The baby’s grandmother dropped him off with a 21-year-old female cousin at an apartment complex to visit friends. Police say the cousin went into the building but didn’t go to the apartment.

Police found the cousin and the baby Wednesday evening about three miles away. They say the cousin is considered a suspect and she is in custody.

Police say the cousin made two phone calls saying she would return the baby. They say she hung up and turned off her phone when the baby’s mother asked about her location.
