SAN DIEGO (AP) - A hip-hop musician from San Diego has surrendered to police in Marin County after being accused of kidnapping a woman and holding her captive.

U-T San Diego reports (https://bit.ly/1CtRoEW ) Charles Mitchell, known as Mitchy Slick, has been booked on suspicion of kidnapping, human trafficking, participating in a criminal street gang and other charges.

He surrendered Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Bail was set at $1.5 million.

Investigators say the woman was held in a house in San Anselmo, near San Francisco. Authorities did not disclose in what city the woman was allegedly abducted or how long she reportedly had been held.

Last month, Mitchell was nominated in two categories for the 2014 San Diego Music Awards - best hip-hop artist and best hip-hop album. The winners will be announced Oct. 6.
