BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - The Big Sky School District has fired a girls’ basketball coach charged with raping two players on the Lone Peak High School team.

The board of trustees met briefly Friday morning and voted unanimously to fire 22-year-old Cyle Kokot, who was to coach basketball and serve as a lunch room aide during the 2014-15 school year. He coached the Lone Peak team during the 2013-14 season.

Kokot made an initial court appearance Tuesday on two counts of sexual intercourse without consent. He has not entered a plea. Kokot remains jailed with bail set at $250,000.

Court records say Kokot told investigators he had sexual relationships with two girls and knew they were 14 and 16 at the time.

Superintendent Jerry House, who recommended the board fire Kokot, said the school will hire a new girls’ basketball coach.
