ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The University of Michigan is set to host a two-day conference at which scholars are to rethink India’s democratic politics.

“Recalling Democracy: Lineages of the Present” gets underway on Friday. It’s free and open to the public.

Panel topics include constitutionalism, practicing democracy, democratic futures and development.

The conference is to be held at the Ann Arbor university’s Center for South Asian Studies.

According to the Center, this is the second recent workshop on the topic. The first was held in New Delhi in January.
