TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Mannford woman who falsely claimed to have lost her home and belongings to a wildfire in order to receive federal disaster funds has been sentenced to home detention and probation.

Federal prosecutors said Friday that 42-year-old Kerry Lynn Rowell was sentenced after pleading guilty to fraudulently obtaining Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster assistance intended for victims of the August 2012 wildfires at Mannford.

Rowell admitted in her plea agreement in May that the home she claimed she lost to the fire was owned by her mother and was uninhabited, dilapidated and did not hold her belongings.

Rowell was also ordered to pay $31,400 restitution to FEMA.
