AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - Five people have been sentenced to federal prison in a crackdown on illegal eight-liner casino-style machines operating in the Texas Panhandle.

The Amarillo Globe-News (https://bit.ly/1pXAPgM ) reports a businessman among those sentenced Friday must forfeit his liquor store and pay more than $390,000.

Store owner Santino Castillo pleaded guilty earlier this year to conspiracy to launder monetary instruments in an Amarillo-area investigation since 2011. Castillo was sentenced to 15 months in prison.

Prosecutors say Castillo organized at least two illegal gambling businesses that led to a raid last September.

The other four people pleaded guilty to conspiracy-related counts related to gambling and were sentenced to prison terms ranging from three to 13 months.
