IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Those wanting their own Herky statue can head to Iowa City next week for the 2014 Herky on Parade live auction.

Herky, the hawk, is the mascot of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The first parade was held in 2004, when about 30 variations of the 6-foot fiberglass statues were displayed as part of the Herky on Parade public art project, which helped celebrate Kinnick Stadium’s 75th anniversary.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (https://icp-c.com/1wcBTNs ) that this year’s auction will be held Friday at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City. Doors open and bidder registration begins at 5 p.m.

Tickets to the event are $5. All proceeds benefit the United Way of Johnson and Washington counties.
