WACO, Texas (AP) - No. 10 Baylor is without quarterback Bryce Petty and some top receivers for the Bears’ second game in their new riverfront campus stadium.

Just before the game started after a short weather delay, Baylor officials said Petty, running back Devin Chafin and receivers Antwan Goodley, Levi Norwood and Corey Coleman would not play against FCS team Northwestern State because of injuries.

Petty cracked two small bones in his back after taking a hit on his first series in the McLane Stadium-opening win over SMU last Sunday. He played only the first half of that game, and had said he wanted to play this week.

Coach Art Briles had said Petty wouldn’t play unless he was 100 percent.

Sophomore Seth Russell started for Petty.
