MOUNT VERNON, Ind. (AP) - Authorities in southwest Indiana say a woman missing since early July is back with her family after a man was able to get her out of a house where they say she was being held captive.

Evansville police said in a news release that a man who visited two people in Posey County west of Evansville was able to get Joelle Lockwood out of the house Saturday night and drive her to the Evansville Police Department. Officers with the Evansville police and Posey County Sheriff’s Office went to the home and took two people into custody.

The release says Lockwood, missing since July 6, has been reunited with her family. Evansville police and the Posey County prosecutor’s office did not return telephone messages left Sunday by The Associated Press.
