CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill died after being severely beaten in the head.

Local media report that information released this week says 19-year-old Faith Danielle Hedgepeth suffered skull fractures and cuts to her face and head, and she was also badly beaten on her arms and legs.

Hedgepeth was found dead Sept. 7, 2012, in the bedroom of her off-campus apartment.

A judge had been reviewing evidence before deciding if he wanted to unseal records involving the investigation. According to search warrants, officers found Hedgepeth on a bed facing up, with her shirt pulled over her head and naked from the waist down.

Prosecutors had said their investigation would be compromised if records are released. Police haven’t disclosed information about possible suspects.
