SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Salt Lake Comic Con has broken its own attendance record for a third straight time.

Event co-founder Bryan Brandenburg says the event that celebrates comic and pop culture drew well more than 120,000 people over a three-day run that ended Saturday.

Over 72,000 people turned out for the inaugural Salt Lake Comic Con last fall and 100,000 attended its FanX convention in April.

Brandenburg told the Deseret News (https://bit.ly/WBUCFL ) organizers cut off online ticket sales at noon Saturday in an attempt to prevent people from buying passes and not being able to enter.

Salt Lake City’S fire marshal briefly blocked entry on a few occasions Saturday to slow down the flood of fans entering the Salt Palace Convention Center.

Frustrated fans waited for hours to enter Thursday.
