HUGO, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has resumed the search for a 50-year-old man who disappeared into Hugo Lake in Choctaw County.

The patrol says Bryan Scott Luscomb of Soper disappeared about 5 p.m. Saturday while swimming with a companion north of Kiamichi Park and a short distance from their vessel, where Luscomb’s wife had remained.

The patrol says Luscomb asked his wife to maneuver the boat toward him when he disappeared beneath the surface and did not resurface.

Troopers launched a search for Luscomb Saturday evening but suspended it overnight. They say he was not wearing a floatation device.
