CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Preliminary enrollment figures indicate the University of Central Arkansas has experienced a 1.4 percent increase in overall enrollment for the fall semester and a 1.4 percent increase in first-time undergraduate enrollment.

Total enrollment for the fall of 2014 is 11,698. Total enrollment for the fall of 2013 was 11,534.

UCA President Tom Courtway says the school’s strong academic programs are helping to keep its future bright.

UCA’s 1.4 percent increase in freshman enrollment brings the freshman class to 2,232 students for the fall of 2014. Total first-time undergraduate in 2013 was enrollment is up 30 over 2,202 students in 2013. This marks the fifth consecutive year first-time undergraduate enrollment has increased at UCA.

Graduate student enrollment is 1,856, which is 76 more graduate students than in the fall of 2013.
