WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police say a 59-year-old man was shot in the leg by a teenager who knocked on the door of his home.

Police say the man answered the door late Saturday night, and the teen asked to speak to someone who wasn’t there. The teen left, but returned soon after and knocked again. Police say this time, the teen was holding a gun. The older man closed the door, and police believe the teen fired through the door, hitting the man in the leg.

The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
