COVINGTON, La. (AP) - Deputies with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office, working in conjunction with Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries agents, have located the body of an unidentified woman in the Bogue Chitto River.

The sheriff’s office says the discovery was made just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The woman was found less than a mile downstream from where three children were rescued following a boating incident last weekend. The body of a man who was with the children was recovered over the weekend. The search for a woman, who also was with them, has been on-going since then.

The body was turned over to the parish coroner, Dr. Charles Preston, for positive identification.

The incident remains under investigation by Wildlife and Fisheries.
