BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (AP) - Officials say fires that destroyed two school buses in suburban Detroit and damaged a third bus are being investigated as suspicious.

Lt. Jim McCullough tells The Detroit News that officials in Birmingham were called to a parking lot around 1:15 a.m. Friday. Birmingham Public Schools weren’t in session on Friday due to spring break. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday.

WWJ-AM reports the cause is under investigation. Board of Education President Geri Rinschler tells The Oakland Press of Pontiac that arson investigators are being brought in and the fires are considered suspicious.
