SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Sacramento police say a fund has been established to aid a 7-year-old girl who suffered severe burns when her mother allegedly set her on fire.

The Sacramento Bee newspaper reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/1CC6p3W) that family members, with the assistance of Well Fargo Bank, set up an account to receive donations, which will go toward the youngster’s recovery.

Police say the Help “T” Get Well Fund was established in response to requests from the community.

The child’s mother, 27-year-old Porche Latrice Wright, is accused of pouring gasoline on her daughter and lighting the girl on fire. Wright was arrested at her home on Saturday when a family friend called for help.

Wright faces charges including attempted murder and aggravated mayhem.
