TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Officials in Tucson say several city employees are on leave amid a criminal and administrative investigation, but they won’t disclose the nature of the alleged wrongdoing.

The city said in a news release Friday that the investigation has implicated several employees. The release said the investigation will remain confidential until it is complete.

The Arizona Daily Star reported that four city police officers are on leave. Department spokesman Sgt. Pete Dugan declined to provide any information on the nature of the allegations.

A memo Friday from interim City Manager Martha Durkin to the mayor and council said some of the allegations involve criminal activities and a city firefighter also may be involved. City police and the Arizona Department of Public Safety are handling the investigation.
