RAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A 33-year-old Detroit police officer has been charged after shots were fired at a northern Macomb County home.

Clifford Gullion was arraigned Thursday on gun charges. He has been suspended without pay pending an internal investigation by Detroit police.

Macomb Sheriff Anthony Wickersham says five slugs struck the front of the Ray Township home early Thursday morning. No one was wounded.

Wickersham says there was a dispute between the husband of a woman who lives at the home and her caregiver. The caregiver is married to the Detroit officer. Wickersham says the shooting was in retaliation for comments made about the caregiver.

Gullion was ordered jailed Thursday on a $250,000 bond. A probable cause conference is set for April 28.

Court records show he does not yet have an attorney.
