RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina state government electrician who died this week after a job-related accident is being remembered by his family and friends.
A memorial service was scheduled Friday afternoon at a Garner funeral home for Robert “Hal” Rue.
State officials say Rue was setting up an aerial lift Monday morning outside the state archives building in downtown Raleigh when the lift toppled upon him. The state Department of Administration said he died early Wednesday at a Raleigh hospital.
State Capitol Police and the Department of Labor are investigating what happened.
The 62-year-old Rue lived in southern Wake County. Rue’s obituary from the funeral home working with his family said Rue was planning to retire from state government in August.
