GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) - An Arizona man admitted to a 911 operator that he stabbed his wife after she confronted him about slapping one of their seven children for playing videogames.

Phoenix television station KSAZ reports (https://bit.ly/1G69Vew) 37-year-old John Leo Davis can be heard crying hysterically while on the phone. He said he and his wife got into a fight, he lost it and stabbed her.

Through sobbing and waling, he said he was sorry and couldn’t believe it had happened.

Authorities have released the 911 calls of Davis, one of the children and a neighbor.

Davis has pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic violence and first-degree murder.

Police found Michelle Davis in a pool of blood when they responded last month. Some of the children ran out of the house and flagged down help.
