VINITA, Okla. (AP) - A Swiss company that makes Otis Spunkmeyer and La Brea Bakery baked goods has closed it sandwich bread plant in Vinita, cutting 117 jobs.

The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/1F7aS0q ) reports the Arytza’s plant stopped production Monday, according to a layoff notice sent to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. All workers will be paid and receive benefits for 60 days after the closure.

Tina Burton, a spokeswoman for the company, says that it closed the plant for “business efficiency.”

Burton says the Zurich-based company is offering workers services to help them transition to other jobs, as well as additional severance pay based on tenure.
