CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Texas energy company and a New York private equity firm have purchased Wyoming’s largest oil field.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/GCsBB0 ) Fleur de Lis Energy and financial partner Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. bought the Salt Creek field from Anadarko Petroleum Corp. for an undisclosed sum Wednesday. The sale includes the Monell field, the Linch field and the Howell Pipeline.

Fleur De Lis CEO Porter Trimble says “these fields have over 2 billion barrels of original oil in place, with only a portion of that recovered to-date.”

The sale sends one of the country’s oldest oil fields to a relatively new company in Fleur de Lis. The Dallas-based company manages $1 billion to purchase oil and gas assets in North America.

Officials with KKR and Fleur de Lis weren’t available for comment.
