PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a woman was intoxicated when she drove the wrong way on the Thruway outside Rochester while traveling with her 6-year-old son.

Troopers say they responded around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a vehicle traveling east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 in the Monroe County town of Pittsford, just south of Rochester.

Police say the driver, 27-year-old Nicole Lamendola of Victor, had steered into the median between exits 46 and 45.

Troopers say she was found to be intoxicated while traveling with her son. The boy was turned over to a family member.

Lamendola was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment. She’s being held Thursday in the Monroe County Jail on $12,000 bail.

A message left with her lawyer, James D. Doyle, wasn’t immediately returned.
