VERONA, N.Y. (AP) - The eastbound lanes of the Thruway in central New York have been reopened after they were shut down when a flat-bed tractor-trailer hauling steel pipes crashed and overturned.

State police say the truck was traveling east on Interstate 90 around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when it jackknifed and rolled over, spilling its load of steel pipes across both lanes in the Oneida County town of Verona, 30 miles east of Syracuse.

Both lanes were closed for about an hour after the crash. The right lane was reopened around 12:30 a.m., followed two hours later by the opening of the left lane.

Troopers say the driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
