HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Former Lumberton Public School District Superintendent Robert Walker has been hired as interim superintendent of Forrest County Agricultural High School District, following the resignation of Jerry Jefferson Morgan.

The Hattiesburg American reports (https://hatne.ws/1am93oU ) Walker came on the job at the end of March. He said it was agreed with the school board he would remain until July 1.

Walker retired from Lumberton schools, effective July 1, 2014. But he said he was willing to come out of retirement to help the Forrest County Agricultural High School District.

Morgan resigned after the administration came under fire following the firing of the coach of the girls basketball and slow-pitch softball teams.
