GLENVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Department of Corrections officials say a man who was photographed with other inmates after an apparent beating has been transferred to another facility while authorities investigate.

A photo of 18-year-old Cortez Berry shows him with a swollen eye kneeling down in front of two other shirtless inmates who fixed a makeshift leash around his neck.

Berry was being held at the Burruss Correctional Training Center in Forsyth and department of corrections spokeswoman Gwendolyn Hogan says he’s been moved to Smith State Prison in Glenville.

The identities of the other inmates in the photo haven’t been released and it’s unclear how the camera got into the facility.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1y39T4q) Berry’s family and a crowd of about 100 protested for prison reform at the city’s judicial center Wednesday.
