MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - Police in the southern Oregon city of Medford are looking for a man who was armed with a sawed-off shotgun when he robbed a bank on Crater Lake Highway. They say he may have robbed another bank last December.

Lt. Mike Budreau says the robber entered the American West Bank branch Wednesday afternoon five minutes before closing time when no other customers were present, menaced employees with the gun and demanded money. No one was injured.

Police say one witness saw the man run away but a search using a police K-9 failed to find him. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Budreau says the man was wearing a fake black wig and beard, a white beanie cap and had a white handkerchief pulled over his face at times. He carried a black or gray backpack.

The spokesman says detectives think the same man was involved in a Washington Federal Bank robbery on Dec. 22.
